Radio Pulpit is well known in South Africa as a radio station that is
much more than just a radio station. We strive to be a companion to all
in their search for meaning. Being the only radio station in South
Africa that broadcasts in all eleven official languages across
demographics, we realise that there is one common denominator, namely
the lifestyle we choose to live, that of Jesus Christ. And, as examples
go, why look any further than the life of our Saviour.
Radio Pulpit partners with local communities and business in order to
make a real, tangible difference in people’s lives. This philosophy is
exemplified by our Community Building Initiative (CBI), a national
programme aimed at empowering and uplifting communities. The initiative
is funded by the business community and administrated by Radio Pulpit.
The vision of CBI is to bring healing, hope and reconciliation.
The Core Focus of CBI Projects
- Our focus is national, amongst all communities and language
groups, using every single project to introduce the people to the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Every project aims to be sustainable and
grow exponentially, so optimising our resources and making a
lasting, sustainable difference.
- Projects focus on hope, reconciliation, and healing, instilling
moral awareness and steadfastness in South Africa at grass roots
level.
- Every project subscribes to Radio Pulpit’s vision – to be a
dynamic and innovative Christian media organization, proclaiming the
Gospel of Jesus Christ to every South African in all of the eleven
official languages.
Talking is what radio stations do. It is their life line and
their core business. But ministry is not only about talking, it is
also about doing. Radio Pulpit is not just a radio station, it is
also a ministry. We put action to our words. We believe in
partnering with local communities in addressing the painful
realities that they have to face; we do not only minister to our
communities but also lead by example.
Being involved with our communities, across the country, we
strive to be a companion – to all, even those who might have been
forgotten. Indeed, the term “community work” is not a trendy catch
phrase that we use to impress people. Far from it. For us it’s about
doing the right thing, helping people without necessarily seeking
credit for it.
If you would like to become a companion to others, with us, we
require proof of their past endeavours to impact positively on
people and communities, responsibly managed and sustainable of
nature.
The identified areas of partnership include the following:
Equipping the youth with Christian and moral principles.
- Youth leadership development
- Literacy and skills training
- Basic requirements for small-scale infra-structural
development
- Evangelical outreach
- Senior citizen support
- Support of the physically disabled
- Prison ministry
