Radio Pulpit broadcasts 24 hours per day on our medium wave transmitter
from Gauteng.
The footprint of our MW transmitter is Gauteng, Northern
Free State, and parts of Kwazulu-Natal and Mpumalanga. However, we know
that the MW signal reaches far beyond this footprint, but the areas
mentioned will have the best reception. The reception seems to improve
during the night time.
The reception of Medium Wave (MW, also called AM), may be
inconsistent, because factors such as the weather, the sun and also the
geographic area have an influence on the signal strength. Large
buildings and steel constructions may also degrade the signal.
Tune your radio to the MW band, to 657 kHz. Most new radios and car
radios will offer good MW reception. If you have a portable radio set,
it may help to move the radio around in your room/home to get the best
reception, because the MW signal is sensitive to direction.
