The final question was: ‘Can we have more camps?’

Despite many challenges and restrictions, our third Deborah Camp was held from 18 – 20 June 2021.

More than 50 women gathered at this camp which was themed: Speak Lord, I am listening. God made His presence known during discussions about reading and knowing the Bible in order to live His Word.

The Deborah Camp is aptly named after one of the most influential women of the Old Testament. Known for both her personal faith and her action, Deborah was unusual in that she was a judge, prophet, warrior, poet, singer and songwriter.

As a judge (one of the rulers of the Hebrews, and the only female leader) Deborah was renowned for her wisdom and rulings.

You can read the full story of Deborah in the Book of Judges, chapters four and five. The lessons we learn from reading about Deborah’s life are:

  • Be Obedient. Listen to God’s call, and act on it.
  • Be Courageous. God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Be bold, be courageous – for His Glory.
  • Stand True. Never waiver in your faith. Even when we don’t know the road ahead, we only need to remember that God will faithfully guide us and lead the way.

And the answer to the question is: Yes, there will be more Deborah camps in the future. We look forward to seeing you there.
