Bertha became a household name when she played the role of Emma in the popular Afrikaans soapie, 7de Laan on SABC2. She joined the cast in the year 2002 and soon became a familiar, friendly face on small screens in many South African homes.
She used this platform to spread the joy of the Lord. Viewers identified that there is something different about this actress and soon discovered that it is her love for God.
Bertha received a Bachelor of Drama degree from the University of Pretoria in 1998 and has since also been seen in many stage and theatre productions across South-African platforms, including Poppie Nongena, Crimes of the Heart and The Secret Garden. Her voice has given life to many radio characters in radio dramas as well. Listeners would have heard her in radio dramas such as Blinkwater and Die Man Met die Rooi Jas.
In 2016 Bertha released a CD and DVD called Godstories & God Liedjies for children. Currently, she also hosts drama workshops. Behind the scenes, Bertha has also helped create content as an assistant director.
