It Is Finished
Written by Han on 30 October 2022
The words uttered by Jesus while on the cross; “When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and [voluntarily] gave up His spirit” (John 19:30 AMP). I wonder what was going on in His mind; I wish we could get a glimpse of his mental picture as He said IT IS FINISHED!!
He could have thought about how painful it was, and it was, but today we can read in the Word what it meant when He said, “It is finished.”
What it means
It was the end and the beginning. Now the redemption price has been paid. Many who were lost in sin can now be restored to the Father from this moment onward. [Ephesians 1:7]
- ‘The sick can be healed [1 Peter 2:24].
- Those feeling condemned by the devil for their many sins can now be set free from all condemnation if they receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. [Romans 8:1, John 8:11]
- The discouraged and depressed can now be set fr,ee and their joy restored. [Psalms 69:9, Matthew 11:28, Psalms 28:7]
- People from all works of life can now have access to the Heavenly Father anytime and anywhere. [Ephesians 2:17-19]
- People can now live a purpose-driven life as they get to know the Heavenly Father and why He created them.[Acts 17:28]
- Now the Holy Spirit, the Helper, can come and guide people into all the truth. [John 16:13]
Whatever His thoughts could have been, I am glad to know Jesus did all that for you and me. Very simple words, but loaded with so much for you and me: It is finished!! You now have access to God’s blueprint, His master plan for your life and destiny.
As you go through life and face all the different things that come with growing up, always remember these words. It is finished!! Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection had a great purpose to set us free and put us right with God.
May you fulfil your God-given purpose on the earth and have access to all Jesus made available to us through the cross. May you and I get to the end of our lives and boldly say (as Jesus, who fulfilled his earthly assignment, said), “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED GUYS”, “It is finished!!!” all that to the glory of God.
Let Your Life Count!
